Factory Upper Fairing Stays are made from either Stamped Metal like most Honda's , bent tubng commonly in Suzuki's, Cast Aluminum like most Yamaha's or Plastic like Kawasaki. Kawasaki's are the most prone to completely breaking and if you plan on doing any stunting take this facotry piece off sell it for almost the same price a beefed up aftermarket stay will cost. Other advatages of running aftermarket fairing stays are some have extra mounts for the headlights and some have an Upper Hoop the follow the a "shortened" windshield profile. Shortened meaning it is cut to just above the top mirror holes, usually cut with a dremel tool or angle grinder.
